Traditionally Yours

This Project is a part of Anwesha's first internship with an Export House named Fabric Plus in Guwahati, Assam, India. It consists of weave designs to be used in the traditional Assamese women's wear called 'Mekhla Chador', a kind a wrap-around dress. The project you are about to see here, was done by Anwesha and guided by Mr. Kandarpa Kachari( the then Design lead of the organisation), for the clients of Fabric Plus. The single repeat units were meant to use 100 hooks each and were born out of a weave development software, named Arah Paint. The repeat patterns were later developed in Photoshop for a better understanding. All the designs were created to be finally developed on Jacquard handlooms
